SHARKS FIND DEFENSIVE BACK

JACKSONVILLE, FLA - The Jacksonville Sharks announce the acquisition of defensive back and wide receiver LaRoche Jackson.

Jackson (5’11, 190, Clark Atlanta University) joins the Sharks with playing experience in two indoor leagues and the Canadian Football League (CFL). A member of the Carolina Speed (AIFA) and Bloomington Extreme (IFL), Jackson brings previous indoor experience for his rookie season in the Arena Football League.

Jackson (first name pronounced La-raw-chee), a native of Irwinton, Georgia was nominated for the Indoor Football League’s Most Valuable Player award after making 41.5 defensive tackles, eight interceptions and returning two kickoffs for touchdowns with the Bloomington Extreme. His performance earned him a roster spot with the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger-Cats as an import defensive back.

The Jacksonville Sharks are members of the Arena Football League (AFL).  The reigning South Division Champions play all home games on Sea Best Field at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.  The Sharks return to action in March of 2011 for a sophomore season.
