The Jacksonville Sharks training camp will officially begin Saturday, March 13, as players report to team facilities for physicals and interviews. The Sharks officially take the field, for the first time ever, Monday, March 15. The Sharks will open practice on Monday, March 15 at the training facilities at Plantation Park. Training camp will run through Friday, March 26 when final roster cuts will be made.
Monday can't get here quick enough for our players and coaches, commented head coach Les Moss. Some of the AFL veteran players on our roster have been waiting a year and a half to get back out on the field. We feel from top to bottom we have the best talent in the league. Now it is time to start building our team.
The Sharks 35-man training camp roster is loaded with Arena Football League (AFL) veterans; however, only 23 will make the final roster for the regular season. It's proven every year in all levels of football, added Moss. It's not necessarily the team with the most talent that is still standing at the end. It's the team who's talented players can learn their role, accept their role and come together for one another that will hoist the trophy at the ArenaBowl.
All mini-camp and training camp practices will be held at the teams practice facility, Plantation Park, located at 3060 Racetrack Rd, St. Johns, FL 32259. Coaches and players will be available to the media after the practice each day (approximately 10:45 a.m.). Media should contact the Sharks media department staff for exact practice times. The Jacksonville Sharks are members of the Arena Football League (AFL). All home games will be played at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. The home season kicks off April 16th as the Sharks take on the Orlando Predators. Season tickets for the inaugural season of the Jacksonville Sharks are now available for as low as $45.
