Sharks Aquire A Touchdown Maker

JACKSONVILLE, FLA – Jacksonville Sharks announce the addition of wide receiver Dallas Baker.

Baker (6’4 215 lbs), a former University of Florida Gator, joins the Sharks in search of his third championship. Baker was a member of the 2006 NCAA Championship Gator team as well as contributing to the 2008 Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

Baker committed to Florida as a SuperPrep All-American from New Smyrna Beach was ranked in the top 25 of prep receivers. Baker left Florida with an impressive resume. As a three-year starter, Baker hauled in over 150 receptions for over 2,200 yards and 21 touchdowns. Baker currently resides ninth on the Gator’s list for career touchdowns. Baker capped his career with an NCAA championship ring in 2006.

Baker’s championship ring collection would soon grow. Baker was selected as a seventh round pick in the 2007 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. After a season on the Steelers’ practice squad, Baker was signed to the active roster for the 2008 season. Baker contributed in eight games for the Steelers on their way to a sixth Super Bowl Championship.

Baker joins the Sharks following an impressive 54-38 victory over the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz. The Sharks take a trip to Huntsville, AL to battle the Alabama Vipers. The match-up can been seen on the AFL Live webstream beginning at 8:30pm.

The Jacksonville Sharks are members of the Arena Football League (AFL). All home games will be played at Sea Best Field at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. The home season kicks off April 16th as the Sharks take on the Orlando Predators. Season tickets for the inaugural season of the Jacksonville Sharks are now available for as low as $45.
