JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Sharks announced today that wide receiver Thyron Lewis has been signed to the Jacksonville Sharks roster for the upcoming 2017 season.

Thyron Lewis (6,4", 200) enters his seventh season playing arena football and his first season with the Jacksonville Sharks. Lewis is no stranger to arena football.  The 6’4 wide receiver has a career total of 381 catches for 5,239 yards and 95 TDs. In 2016, Lewis caught 25 passes for 362 yards and 4 touchdowns with the Cleveland Gladiators playing wide receiver and on special teams as a kick returner. In 2015, he split the year with both the Los Angeles Kiss and the Cleveland Gladiators combining for a total of 62 receptions, 744 yards and scoring four touchdowns each with the Kiss and Gladiators.

Prior the 2015 season, Lewis spent four seasons with the Cleveland Gladiators with his best season coming in 2014.  He had a career high 101 catches for 1,525 yards and 37 TDs in 13 regular season games. Before his career in the AFL, Lewis played for the IFL’s Tri-Cities Fever in 2010, where he earned Second Team All-IFL Honors for his 50 receptions for 675 yards and 25 TDs. Lewis has also played for the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings (2009), Tri-Cities Fever (2008), Stockton Lightning (2008) and was a member of the Washington Redskins practice squad in 2006.

Lewis played wide receiver at Howard College where he had 30 catches for 513 yards and four TDs during his time as a Bison. The Woodland Hills, CA native attended William H. Taft High School.
