JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Sharks announced today that offensive lineman Mo Ruffins has signed with the Jacksonville Sharks for the 2017 season.

Mo Ruffins (6’5”,320) will begin his eighth season in arena football and third with the Sharks. Ruffins first joined the Sharks in 2015 where he earned All-Arena Honors and helped the team to an ArenaBowl appearance. During his time with the Sharks, he’s had a total of 12 receptions for 136 yards and five touchdowns. Prior to his time with the Sharks, Ruffins played for the San Antonio Talons for the 2014 and 2013 seasons recording 36 receptions for 336 yards and 10 touchdowns. In 2012, Ruffins was assigned to the Pittsburgh Power where he collected five receptions for 41 yards and two touchdowns. In 2011, the 6’5 offensive lineman played for the New Orleans VooDoo, catching four receptions for 39 yards and two touchdowns. During his rookie season in 2010, Ruffins played for the Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings where he played both offense and defense for Battle Wings, earning a career high of 16 tackles.

Ruffins spent his collegiate career with the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs from 2002 to 2005. During his senior year, Ruffins earned All-WAC Honors after recording 38 tackles, seven for a loss, three sacks, and two forced fumbles. He totaled 79 tackles, nine for a loss, and three sacks throughout his time at Louisiana Tech.

Ruffins is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Middletown High School, where he helped the team to become regional champions in 2000 and 2001.
