JACKSONVILLE  – The (4-0) Jacksonville Sharks remain undefeated after their win in North Carolina against the (2-2) High Country Grizzlies.

The Sharks defense scored first with a pick-six by linebacker Charlie Hunt, who intercepted the ball in the endzone as the Grizzlies were about to score. As the Sharks offense took the field for their first drive, Tommy Grady fired a pass the entire length of the field to wide receiver Darryl Thompson to put the Sharks ahead 13-0. The Grizzlies took their time down the field, but as they were about to score once again, Jabari Gorman intercepted the ball in the endzone to prevent the Grizzlies from striking back.

Early in the second quarter, Tommy Grady executed practically the same huge pass from the first quarter, but this time it was completed by Mo Williams. Even Sharks offensive lineman Cornelius Lewis ran one in to extend the Sharks lead to 27-0. Mo Williams scored his second and third touchdowns of the evening on two additional huge passes from Grady. With less than nine seconds left in the half, Grizzlies quarterback Stephen Panasuk threw his fourth interception of the game, received by defensive back Micheaux Robinson. The Sharks defense completely shut out the Grizzlies during the first half, the score 41-0 going into the third quarter.

The Grizzlies got their first points of the game in the third quarter from a touchdown pass completed by Malachi Jones. Derrick Ross answered right back with a short run into the endzone. The Grizzlies began to put on some pressure against the Sharks when they scored again as fullback Undra Hendrix pounded the ball into the endzone and Mackenzie Williams came through with the two point conversion to make it 47-15. The Sharks gave Tommy Grady some rest and put in quarterback Damien Flemming, who ended up scoring a touchdown.

Derrick Ross scored again, the Sharks leading by 46 points. Jermiah Price put the pressure on Panasuk, causing him to throw another interception caught by Marvin Ross, who is now in a three way tie for most interceptions in the league. Derrick Ross proved to be “The Boss” once again as he made his third touchdown of the game. The game ended with a Grizzlies touchdown, the final score 68-21.

Next, the Sharks will take the road against the (3-0) Monterrey Steel on Monday, April 24 at 9:00 p.m.
