JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville Sharks announced today that Wide Receiver David Lewis signed with the Jacksonville Sharks for his sixth year in arena football and first year with the Sharks.


Lewis (6’5”, 240) joins the Sharks after spending the 2017 season with the Monterrey Steel and Florida Tarpons. During his time with the Steel, he played in four games, completing six catches for 59 yards and two touchdowns. Lewis also helped the Tarpons of the Arena Pro Football League to a 5-1 record. In 2016, he signed with the Billings Wolves of the IFL. Lewis spent the 2015 season with the Cleveland Gladiators. In 2014, he signed with the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League but left, spending time with three other teams, the Dodge City Law of the CIF, the Iowa Barnstormers and Bemidji Axemen of the IFL. In 2013, Lewis began his rookie career with the Green Bay Blizzard where he played wide receiver and served on special teams as the Bizzard’s kick returner.  

Lewis spent his college career at Southern Illinois University where he caught 27 passes for 315 yards and two touchdowns, and started 10 of 11 games during his senior season.

Lewis is a native of Warrenton, Virginia and was a star high school football player at Fauquier High School. Throughout his high school football career, he totaled 50 catches for 818 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns, averaging 16.4 receiving yards.
