JACKSONVILLE – Offensive Lineman Mike Williams (6’5,330) has signed with the Jacksonville Sharks for his second season of arena football and second year with the Sharks. Williams is the second starting offensive lineman from the 2019 NAL Champions roster to re-sign with the Jacksonville under Head Coach James Fuller. Earlier last week offensive lineman Derrick Ziegler also re-signed with the Sharks for 2020. Williams and the Sharks offensive line was the undisputed best line in the NAL, giving up only 11 sacks in 14 games. To put that in perspective the closest team to the Sharks was Carolina who allowed twice as many sacks (22). In addition, the Sharks offensive line paved the way for Jacksonville’s running game that led the league with 298 rushing yards and 25 rushing touchdowns. Williams also caught two passes for 17 yards and was the only rookie offensive lineman on the championship roster, his return brings not only youth but the strength for another potential championship bound Sharks team.
