Sharks Add Receiver Caleb Holmes

JACKSONVILLE – The 2019 National Arena League champion Jacksonville Sharks announced today that they have signed veteran wide receiver Caleb Holmes (5’10,180). Holmes enters his fourth season of arena football. In 2019, Holmes then joined the Jacksonville Sharks for training camp but left to sign with the Philadelphia Soul of the Arena Football League (AFL) where he spent the remainder of the season as a member of their practice squad.

In 2018, Holmes played for the Carolina Cowboys, an American Arena League (AAL) team in Greenville, SC. During his time with the Cowboys he played defensive back recording 14 tackles and only allowing three catches and 10 yards in two games. In 2017, he competed in training camp with the Columbus Lions of the NAL. After he was released by the Lions he signed with the Carolina Energy of the AAL. During his rookie season of arena football, Holmes signed with the Upstate Dragons in of the Supreme Indoor Football League (SIF) in 2016 where he primarily played as the team’s kick returner. 

A native of Charleston, SC, Holmes played for Goose Creek High School and later on attended the College of Faith in Charlotte, NC where he played wide receiver.
