JACKSONVILLE,FLA-The Jacksonville Sharks announce the addition of OL Byron Bishop. In addition the Sharks have also activated DL Jerry Brown from Injured Reserve. To create the roster space for these additions the Sharks have placed OL Qasim Mitchell on Reassignment and placed WR Jamarko Simmons on IR.

Offensive Lineman Byron Bishop(6’5, 320) graduated from North Carolina. As a Tar Heel, Bishop started in 4 games in his senior year and played in 9 total games. Bishop later joined the Orlando Predators for his rookie season in 2010. As a Predator, Bishop started on the offensive line until the July 3rd games against Cleveland. Bishop was also invited to a Miami Dolphins minicamp tryout during the last week of the AFL season.

DL Jerry Brown will be returning for the Sharks against the Cleveland Gladiators after being activated from IR. Brown has two tackles in two games this season.

After coming off a two-touchdown performance against the Pittsburgh Power, Jamarko Simmons has been placed on Injured Reserve. He will be on injured reserve for the next four weeks.

The Jacksonville Sharks are members of the Arena Football League (AFL). The reigning South Division Champions are presented by Sea Best Seafood and play all home games on Sea Best Field at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. The Sharks return to action Saturday, April 23 in a regular season matchup against the Cleveland Gladiators. Season Tickets for the 2011 season are still available.
