SHARKS HEAD TO GRAVEYARD FOR SOUTH DIVISION MATCHUP

05/31/2011 12:16 PM -

The Jacksonville Sharks (9-1) travel to face-off against the New Orleans VooDoo (2-9) Friday June 3, 2011 at the New Orleans Arena at 8:00 pm. The game will be featured as the NFL Network game of the week.

The Sharks return to action this week against division opponent New Orleans after the second of two bye weeks. The Sharks are currently 5-0 in the South Division as they look to continue to set the pace in the American Conference. This will be the second match-up between the two franchises as the Sharks defeated the VooDoo March 26, 2011 64-33 in Jacksonville. The Sharks are currently on a franchise best nine game winning streak which ranks fifth all-time in AFL history during a single season.

The VooDoo have one of the most electrifying weapons in the AFL on their roster in Wide Receiver/Kick Returner P.J. Berry. Berry is one of only two players in the league to total more than 2,000 all-purpose yards to this point in the season (2,439). He ranks second in the league in receptions with 103 and is one of only two players to top the 100 receptions mark through week 12. Berry also ranks number one in the league in return yards with 1,328 as well as return touchdowns with four.

Can the Sharks contain P.J. Berry, improve to 6-0 in the division and earn a tenth consecutive victory?

The game will be broadcast live as the AFL Game of the Week on the NFL Network and broadcast locally on 1010XL with Terry Norvelle giving the play-by-play.
