The Jacksonville Sharks (13-1) travel to the San Jose SaberCats (5-9) Friday July 1, 2011 with kickoff set for 10:30 PM EDT.

The Sharks defeated the Tampa Bay Storm last week 66-41 in a game that broke several league and team records. With the win, the Sharks set the AFL record for consecutive wins in a regular season with 13, a record that was previously held by the SaberCats. The Sharks also wrapped up division and conference play last week becoming only the fourth team in 24 seasons of Arena Football to finish undefeated in both division (8-0) and conference (12-0) play.

Sharks wide receiver Jeff Hughley continued his stellar play with a record-breaking team performance. Hughley set Sharks records for receptions (13), yards (210), touchdowns (6), points scored (36) and all-purpose yards (324).

While the Sharks are currently on a 13 game win streak, the SaberCats currently have a 7 game losing streak after starting the season 5-2. Last week the SaberCats were defeated 21-82 by the Cleveland Gladiators as Cleveland WR Troy Bergeron tallied 5 touchdown receptions. The SaberCats also committed nine turnovers in the game, a 2011 league high. Even though these totals look promising for the Sharks, they must not overlook San Jose. The SaberCats have offensive weapons in WR Ben Nelson 17 touchdown receptions in seven games played, and FB Chad Cook is second in the league with 26 rushing touchdowns. The SaberCats also return AFL veteran DB Eddie Moten this week after being placed on Injured Reserve in week 13.

The game will be broadcast live on 1010XL, hosted by Terry Norvelle. The game will also be broadcast live on AFL Live, powered by NiftyTV.
