AIR CONDITIONED PARADISE

07/05/2011 2:49 PM -

The Jacksonville Sharks (13-2) return to Sea Best Field as they take on the Dallas Vigilantes (10-5) Saturday July 9th, with kickoff set for 7:00 PM.

The Sharks look to get back to their winning ways after losing at San Jose (6-9), 70-83 last week. The loss ended an AFL record 13-game regular season win streak set by the Sharks this season. In the loss QB Aaron Garcia threw for nine touchdowns as he found WR Jomo Wilson five times in the losing effort. The Sharks are currently 7-0 on Sea Best Field this season and look to add to that streak with a win against the Vigilantes.

At 10-5, the Vigilantes come in to Jacksonville as one of the hottest teams in the AFL with a four game winning streak. Dallas FB Derrick Ross is breaking records of his own as he became the first player in league history to rush for more than 500 yards in a season (551), and also has 31 rushing touchdowns through 15 games played. The Vigilantes also have a solid passing attack led by QB Dan Raudabaugh who has thrown for 3926 yards and 78 TD’s. Raudabaugh has an explosive WR core led by Anthony “Tiger” Jones (133 catches, 1718 yards and 36 TD’s), but also has two other weapons in WR’s Matt Fields (77 catches, 1045 yards and 20 TD’s) and DeAndrew Rubin (74 catches, 1124 yards and 21 TD’s). Dallas is one of only five teams that have three WR’s with 1,000 yards to this point in the season (Georgia, Orlando, Tampa Bay and Utah).

The game will kickoff at 7:05 PM EDT and will be aired live on WCWJ, CW17 hosted by T.J. Streit and Jerry Odom. It will also be broadcast live 1010XL and will be streamed online through niftytv.com with Terry Norvelle on the call.
