SHARKS HEAD TO KANSAS CITY

07/12/2011 10:20 AM -

The Jacksonville Sharks (13-3) travel to the Kansas City Command (5-11) Friday, July 15th, 2011 with kickoff set for 8:30pm EDT.

Last week the Sharks were defeated 70-75 by the Dallas Vigilantes (11-5). It was the first home loss for the Sharks in 2011, and the first time the Sharks have lost consecutive games this season.

The Sharks will attempt to get back on track with a victory this week over a Command team that has had its struggles in its first season of play. The Command are led by QB Steve Wasil who has started the last three games and is 1-2 in those starts after the Command traded away QB J.J. Raterink, the previous starter to the Chicago Rush. Wasil will look to find the Command's leading WR, Bret Smith (120 catches, 1374 yards and 23 TD's) as well as dual-threat WR Steve Savoy (63 catches, 767 yards and 14 TD's) as well as 5 rushing TD's in only 9 games played this season.

Sharks WR Jeff Hughley has certainly been "ridiculous" the last few games. In the loss to Dallas, Hughley had the most All-purpose yards in Shark history with 331 yards, breaking the mark of 324 set by Hughley two weeks prior. Hughley and the Shark offense will look to exploit a Kansas City defense that ranks 10th in the AFL as they attempt to set more team records each week. The only record that truly matters however is the win/loss record, will the Sharks capture their 14th victory this week? Tune in Friday night to find out.

The game will be broadcast live on 1010XL, hosted by Terry Norvelle. The game will also be broadcast on AFL Live, powered by NiftyTV.
