SHARKS HOST PREDATORS

The Jacksonville Sharks (14-4) take on the Orlando Predators (11-7), in the 2011 American Conference Divisional Round, this Friday July 29th with kickoff set for 8PM on Sea Best Field.

The Sharks look to avenge their 69-73, last minute loss to the Predators in the 2010 Divisional game. The Sharks look to sweep the Predators in 2011 after wins at Orlando 68-67 on June 11th, and at home 76-55 on April 30th. Last week the Sharks ended their three game losing streak with a 75-56 victory over the Spokane Shock. The victory improved the Sharks 2011 home record to 8-1. Sharks WR Jeff Hughley started the game with a bang as he returned the opening kickoff 57 yards for his first return touchdown of the season. Hughley continued his excellent play as he racked up 225 all-purpose yards, for his sixth consecutive game over the 200-yard mark. Sharks WR Jamarko Simmons, fresh off of his return from the UFL scored five total touchdowns, showcasing both his speed and strength in the victory. Defensive Back Micheaux Robinson added ten tackles and six pass breakups, bringing his 2011 total to 49, the new AFL record. Defensive Lineman, Derrick Summers forced his fifth fumble and also recorded his eleventh sack in the game, both are Shark records.

The Predators finished their regular season with a 62-44 victory over the New Orleans VooDoo. Predators quarterback Nick Hill threw for nearly 300 yards with 7 touchdowns and 1 interception while also adding 38 rushing yards in the victory. Hill found his favorite receiver Bobby Sippio, 14 times for 166 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Predators did lose WR/KR Josh Bush in the game due to injury. Bush was placed on injured reserve this week and is out for the remainder of the playoffs. Bush averaged 219 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns this year against the Sharks.
