The Jacksonville Sharks, in conjunction with its flagship television partner WCWJ, announce that ArenaBowl XXIV will be rebroadcast in its entirety on WCWJ, CW17 Saturday at 8:00 pm EDT. The game will be preceded by Sharks Football Weekly at 7:30 pm.
The August 12, 2011 contest between the Jacksonville Sharks and the Arizona Rattlers is quickly being regarded as the best ArenaBowl in the history of the Arena Football League. The Sharks' storybook ending with quarterback Aaron Garcia connecting to hometown wideout Jeron Harvey as time expired created a frenzy thoughout the city of Jacksonville. CW17 will help recapture the excitement by airing ArenaBowl XXIV in it's entirety beginning at 8:00 pm EDT. The final installment of Sharks Football Weekly for the 2011 season will precede the game and air at 7:30 pm.
"The historical championship victory reached more fans than any other game on the NFL Network," said Sharks' Managing Partner Jeff Bouchy. "Unfortunately, not all of Shark Nation has the NFL Network. We wanted to allow all of Jacksonville to have an opportunity to see the game, and our flagship television partners at CW17 shared our same commitment to our fans."
The Sharks unprecedented come-from-behind win in Arizona set several records including most points scored in an ArenaBowl, most points scored in a final minute of an ArenaBowl and most watched AFL National Broadcast on the NFL Network to name just a few.
