The Jacksonville Sharks announce that Sharks' First Team All-AFL defensive back Micheaux Robinson signed with the Montreal Alouettes on Wednesday, September 7, 2011.

Robinson played in the Arena Football League three seasons, the last two with the Jacksonville Sharks. He currently holds franchise records for interceptions, tackles and passes defended. In 2011, Robinson was named to the All-AFL team and a finalist for defensive player of the year after breaking the all-time AFL record for passes defended in a single season.

"We're extremely happy for him," commented Head Coach Les Moss. "Micheaux has worked a hard to become a premier player in the AFL and will make the most of this opportunity. I hope he'll have a long and productive career up North."

Robinson finished the 2011season with 144.5 tackles, second most on the team. He led the team with 13 interceptions and 53 passes defended. In the ArenaBowl, Robinson's interception in the third quarter was paramount to the Sharks staging a late comeback to bring the first professional football championship to Jacksonville.

"I absolutely had the best time in my Arena Football career as a Shark," said Robinson. "The Championship only adds to the experience. If the unfortunate happens and I cannot continue at the next level, I hope that I have a chance to return to Jacksonville. I love everything about the Jacksonville Sharks, the players and coaches, and especially the fans."
