10/20/2011 5:35 PM - JACKSONVILLE - The ArenaBowl XXIV Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Thursday the additions of four defensive lineman to the team’s 2012 roster. Richard Berry, Johnny Dingle, Billy Harrison and Elisee Pompilus have all been assigned to the team for next season.

Berry (6’2, 280) was a four-year starter during his time at West Virginia. The 26-year-old capped his Mountaineer career by registering 35 total tackles, four sacks and two fumble recoveries in 2010, his senior season. The North Babylon, NY native signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent during training camp.

Another former West Virginia Mountaineer, the 26-year-old Dingle (6’2, 265) played alongside Berry in 2007. In that year, Dingle led his team with 19 tackles for loss and nine sacks. Forgoing his final year of eligibility, Dingle signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2008 and played during that year’s preseason. A Florida native, Dingle played at Booker T. Washington High School in Miami.

Harrison, 26, played his collegiate football at Tulane. The defensive end made an immediate impact during his freshman season in 2003, registering 65 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and three sacks. Harrison (6’3, 255) grew up in Pensacola, FL, where he made second team all-state in each of his final two high school seasons.

Finally, the 25-year-old Pompilus (6’2, 260) joins the Sharks after playing at Union College (KY), where he was teammates with recent Shark signee Sean Mackey. In his final season as a Bulldog, Pompilus totaled 40 tackles and led the team in both tackles for loss (8.5) and sacks (5.5). He is a native of Malden, MA.

The Jacksonville Sharks are members of the Arena Football League (AFL). The ArenaBowl XXIV and back-to-back South Division Champions are presented by Sea Best Seafood and play all home games on Sea Best Field at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena.
