02/16/2012 5:38 PM - JACKSONVILLE - The ArenaBowl XXIV Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Thursday that defensive lineman Andre Caroll has been placed on the Arena Football League's "Other League Exempt" list. Caroll is set to join the Canadian Football League's Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

This will be Caroll's second stint with Winnipeg, as the 23-year-old also spent time with the team prior to the 2011 season. Should he be activated from the exempt list, Caroll will remain assigned to the Sharks' 2012 roster.

A three-year-starter at Delaware State, Caroll (6’2”, 300) led the Hornets with 56 tackles as a junior in 2009. That season, he also led the team with 7.0 tackles for loss and ranked third with 2.5 sacks. As a senior, Caroll stepped his game up even further. Again leading the team in tackles (96) and tackles for loss (13.5), he finished second on the team with four sacks and also forced two fumbles, notched a pair of fumble recoveries and recorded an interception.

After his first stint with Winnipeg, Caroll signed with the National Football League's Cleveland Browns during training camp but did not appear in a game for the team. He is a native of Neptune, NJ.
