04/04/2012 5:41 PM - JACKSONVILLE – The ArenaBowl XXIV Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Wednesday that WR/DB Koreen Burch has been assigned to the team’s roster.

The 23-year-old Burch (5’9” 170) was originally assigned to the Philadelphia Soul’s 2012 roster on September 30, 2011. After spending training camp with the team, Burch was placed on reassignment on March 9.

Before beginning his pro career, Burch played collegiate football at Ball State University, serving primarily as a cornerback. He enjoyed his best year as a Cardinal in 2009, recording 43 total tackles and nine pass breakups. Burch contributed to the Ball State offense as a freshman in 2007, running for 208 yards and a touchdown on 55 carries.

The addition of Burch fills the open roster spot created when OL/FB Eric Davis was traded to the Cleveland Gladiators on Tuesday in exchange for a waiver claim position.
