JACKSONVILLE – With the Arena Football League’s exclusive period underway, the 2012 South Division Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Wednesday that Offensive Lineman Isaac Morales has been assigned to the team’s roster on a two-year contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 28-year-old Morales is set for his fourth season with the Sharks and in the AFL. Last season, Morales returned from a shoulder injury to make six starts for Jacksonville. In addition to solid work in both pass protection and run blocking, Morales caught an 11-yard pass in the Sharks’ Week 16 contest against the Cleveland Gladiators.

Morales has been a stalwart along the Jacksonville offensive line since the franchise’s inception, starting every one of the team’s regular-season games in both 2010 and 2011. In 2011, Morales anchored a Shark line that allowed just 12 sacks over the course of the entire season en route to the team’s ArenaBowl XXIV title.

“Isaac has been with us since the first season and has been an anchor at Right Guard and Tight End,” Sharks Head Coach Les Moss said. “He is one of the top pass protectors in the league and we expect that he will be 100 percent from day one next season. It’s great to have Isaac back in the fold.”

Before beginning his professional career, Morales played along the offensive line at the University of Wyoming.
