JACKSONVILLE – The 2012 South Division Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Friday that the team has retained another key member of the team’s offensive line, as Brant Clouser has been assigned to the Jacksonville roster on a two-year contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Brant was a guy who we got later on in the year, and he stepped in right away as our starting center,” Sharks Head Coach Les Moss said. “He did a very good job for us, he’s got great power and will continue to improve as we head toward next year.”

Clouser, 23, joined the Sharks prior to the team’s Week 8 contest against the Spokane Shock. From that game forward, Clouser was a constant at center, starting each of the team’s final 13 regular-season contests – and both playoff games – at the position. Despite joining the team with the season underway, Clouser logged the most starts among all Jacksonville offensive linemen in 2012. The Sharks compiled an 8-5 record in the regular-season contests in which Clouser played.

Before turning pro, Clouser played at Villanova, where he impressively started all 53 of his team’s games during his four-year career. As a senior in 2010, Clouser was selected to both the preseason and postseason All-CAA First Team. Clouser is a native of Altoona, Pennsylvania.
