JACKSONVILLE – The 2012 South Division Champion Jacksonville Sharks announced Thursday that fullback R.J. Bibbs has been assigned to the Jacksonville roster. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The 26-year-old Bibbs (6’2”, 315) is new to the Arena Football League, but does bring previous indoor football experience to Jacksonville. Bibbs most recently was a member of the Professional Indoor Football League’s Knoxville Nighthawks, playing in nine games along Knoxville’s offensive line during the 2013 season.

Before beginning his professional career, Bibbs attended Miles College, a school that competes at the NCAA Division II level. Bibbs played center for the Golden Bears, and was selected to the Division II/III All American Bowl All-Star Game following the 2009 season. Bibbs is a native of Pleasant Grove, Alabama.

In another Thursday transaction, the Sharks announced that wide receiver Jeff Hughley has been placed on team suspension. Hughley’s transaction is due to personal reasons, and he remains in good standing with the team. Following the day’s roster moves, the Jacksonville roster remains at the League maximum of 24 active players.
