JACKSONVILLE, FL- The Jacksonville Sharks upgraded their roster still searching for their first win in the IFL (Indoor Football League). The Sharks signed WR
DJ Stubbs (5'9, 180lbs) from Liberty University, LB
Chase Lasater (6'2, 225lbs) from Florida Atlantic and DL
Lionell Wiggins (6'3, 260lbs) from San Jose State.
Stubbs is a Jacksonville native. He attended school at University Christian. While at University Christian, he played quarterback, running back, wide receiver and free safety displaying his wide range of talent. He played for the Liberty Eagles from 2017 to 2020 and saw playing time in every game.
Lasater played outside linebacker for Florida Atlantic. In his sophomore year he played 9 games taking part in 367 snaps. During the season he posted 50 tackles, 18 assists and 27 stops. In his junior year, Lasater played 11 games and contributed on 322 snaps. In that season he compiled 14 tackles and 8 assists while making 12 stops.
Wiggins played on the defensive line at San Jose State for most of his collegiate career and transferred to Northern Arizona University for his last eligible season as a collegiate athlete. In his final fall season, he played in four games posting six tackles, five solo, and one sack.
These new recruits have displayed versatility, power, explosive speed, and natural instincts on the field and are sure to build the team from both sides of the line for the Sharks 2024 roster.
