What You Need to Know about the 2026 Attack Dance Team Auditions

We are so excited you will be joining us this year for the 2026 Attack Dance Team Auditions! Please read this application to its entirety as there is very important information included here.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older by May 31, 2025

• Must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) by May 31, 2025

• Must be able to attend all rehearsals, games, and team events throughout the season

• Must submit a professional headshot and a $50 non-refundable audition fee at the time of sign-up

Audition Process

Virtual round one - Preliminary 

• Submit a 45-60 second video showcasing choreography

• Video must be high-quality (clear audio, good lighting, centered framing)

• Proper attire required:

  • Sleeveless crop top, sports bra, tank top

  • Dance shorts or other appropriate bottoms

  • Skin-tone tights are encouraged but not required

  • Dance sneakers, jazz shoes or sneakers

• Include your professional headshot with submission

• Email your audition package to stephanie@jaxsharks.com

• You will be contacted directly by the Attack Director if you are selected to move forward

Virtual round two - Semi Finals

• Candidates selected will be invited to submit a second video

• This round will consist of:

  • Assigned Attack choreography (provided by the team)

  • Your own original choreography (45–60 seconds)

• Email your semi-final submission videos to stephanie@jaxsharks.com

• You will be contacted directly by the Attack Director if you are selected to move forward

Finalist phase

• Panel interviews: Date & location TBD

• Final auditions: Date & location TBD

• Candidates selected will perform live choreography provided by the Attack Dance Team, a solo and participate in in-person interviews

What we're looking for:

• Strong dance technique and performance quality

• Game-day energy: ability to perform in front of a large arena audience

• Adaptability: able to quickly learn and perform Attack choreography

• Team commitment: reliability, accountability and professionalism

• Positive attitude, confidence and crowd interaction skills

Additional notes:

• Being part of the Attack Dance Team is more than just dancing. It's about being an ambassador for the Jacksonville Sharks both on and off the field.

• Dancers should expect a schedule that includes:

  • Weekly rehearsals

  • All home games (plus potential playoff games)

  • Team appearances and community events

• All team members must comply with team guidelines, contracts and professional standards.

• The $50 audition fee must be submitted at the time of sign-up. Payment is accepted through: PayPal, Venmo or Cash App

  Frequently Asked Questions

  -Do I need professional dance team experience to audition?
  No! While experience is a plus, it's not required. We're looking for strong dancers with performance quality, confidence and the ability to learn quickly.

  -What style of dance should I use for my audition video?
  Pick a style that shows off your strengths! We recommend jazz, hip hop, or pom-style choreography, as those are most often performed on game day.

  - What should I wear for my audition video?
  Proper attire is required: sleeveless crop top, dance shorts, skin-tone tights, and dance sneakers. Look professional and performance-ready!

  -Can I use a phone to record my audition video?
  Yes! Just make sure the video is high-quality, with clear audio, good lighting and a centered frame.

  -Do I need to attend every rehearsal and game if I make the team?
  Being a member of the Attack Dance Team is a full-season commitment. Dancers are required to attend all rehearsals, home games and scheduled team events.

  -What if I can't attend the panel interview or final audition?
  All finalists must be available for interviews and final auditions. Dates and locations will be announced in advance.

  - Is the audition fee refundable if I change my mind?
  No. The $50 audition fee is non-refundable.
