HIGH SCHOOL PLAYER OF THE WEEK IS BROUGHT BY TRUE VET SOLUTIONS, THE JACKSONVILLE SHARKS FOUNDATION, AND 1010XL
The True Vet Player of the Week is a prestigious honor celebrating exceptional high school football players across Jacksonville. This recognition highlights individuals who excel in athletics, academics, and community leadership, setting the standard for excellence both on and off the field.
Athletic achievement is at the heart of this award—winners display remarkable skill, dedication, and sportsmanship, inspiring their peers and communities. Equally important is their commitment to academics, where they show intellectual curiosity, integrity, and discipline. In addition, these student-athletes make a positive impact through community involvement, embodying leadership and service.
Recipients of the True Vet Player of the Week demonstrate great character, selflessness, and a team-first mentality. They may have made sacrifices, contributed in ways that go unnoticed, or gone above and beyond for the success of their team.
Each week, Coach Gibson and a Jacksonville Sharks player present the award during the winner's practice, along with a prize, to honor their hard work and inspire future generations.
At the end of the season, True Vet will award a $5,000 scholarship to the Player of the Week Ultimate Winner—the student-athlete who submits the most impactful "What a Veteran Means to Me" entry. This opportunity is open to all weekly award winners. The scholarship will be presented at a special award presentation and lunch, with a photo opportunity for the True Vet representative, Coach Gibson, and the winner. The Jacksonville Sharks will also feature the winner in a special social media post to recap the achievement.
