JACKSONVILLE, FL - Coming off their first win of the Indoor Football League (IFL), the Jacksonville Sharks gear up for week nine of the 2024 season. The Sharks face off against the Frisco Fighters for the first time this Saturday, May 11th, on the road in Texas.

The Fighters are coming off the road 5-1 with a win against the San Antonio Gunslingers, despite missing starting QB TJ Edwards. Larry Harrington, Frisco's backup QB, had a stand out performance with six touchdowns (three passing and three rushing). The Fighters evened the score in the rematch against the Gunslingers 62-57.

The Sharks come into this weekend 1-5 with a 47-44 win against the Tulsa Oilers. QB Fred Payton Jr was selected as the IFL's Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in Tulsa. He led the offense going 18/24 for 179 yards and five passing touchdowns. Payton Jr also had one rushing touchdown and 13 carries for 53 yards. 

As the Sharks hit the road to Frisco, they understand the difficult task ahead of them. The Frisco Fighters are sure to pose a tough challenge, but the Sharks are feeling a lot
of confidence after their recent victory.

Excitement also builds with the addition of new player Richie Coffey (DB), who is set to make his debut, providing crucial coverage and tackles against the Fighters. With the
combination of Caleb Ham, Ulric Jones, and Coffey the Sharks are primed to stifle the Fighters offensive efforts and create game-changing turnovers.

cylinders.
