FRISCO, TX - The Jacksonville Sharks suffered a humiliating defeat on the road in Texas against the Frisco Fighters in their first ever matchup, final score 68-33, Frisco.
In the first quarter, the Sharks took the opening kickoff and drove down into the red zone. Unfortunately a Fred Payton Jr interception ended the drive. Frisco took the early lead on the next drive with Harrington rushing for a 2-yard touchdown, putting them ahead 7-0 after a successful kick. However, the Sharks quickly responded with Payton Jr rushing for a 1-yard touchdown.
In the second quarter, a Carter rushing TD gave the Fighters a 14-8 lead. On the ensuing kickoff Sharks return man DJ Stubbs fumbled the ball which was recovered in the Shark's end zone, adding another Frisco touchdown to make it 20-8. After another unsuccessful Sharks drive Frisco QB Harrington completed a 44-yard pass to a wide open Cole Blackman for another Fighters touchdown, making it 27-8
The Sharks managed to score with Boom Williams rushing for a 1-yard touchdown, reducing the deficit to 27-15. Unfortunately , the Fighters quickly responded with Harrington rushing for another 1-yard touchdown, extending their lead to 34-15. The Sharks just couldn't get the offense going and after another stop Smith rushed for a 4-yard touchdown, making it 41-15.
Just as time ran out before halftime, the Sharks scored with Payton Jr completing a 1-yard pass to Tamorrion Terry, bringing the score to 41-21 after a failed conversion attempt. In the third quarter, the Fighters continued their dominance with Carter rushing for a 19-yard touchdown, though they missed the subsequent kick, bringing the score to 47-21. Another Harrington touchdown, made the score to 54-21. This drive comprised 7 plays covering 44 yards over a duration of 4 minutes and 46 seconds.
In the fourth quarter, the Jacksonville Sharks managed a 21 yard Payton Jr. TD pass to Terry bringing the score to 54-27. The Sharks' drive consisted of 5 plays, covering 35 yards in 3 minutes and 24 seconds. The Fighters extended their lead as Carter Martez rushed for a 4-yard touchdown, bringing the score to 61-27. In the closing moments of the fourth quarter, Martez's 4-yard rushing touchdown marked another scoring drive for the Fighters, bringing the score to 68-27. Jacksonville managed to add to their score with a 5-yard rushing touchdown by Fred Payton Jr.
