Transaction Notes: Clay Fields III signed with the Sharks for the 2026 season.

College: Fields was ranked the #1 safety across all levels of college football during his redshirt year at Marist. There, he recorded 185 yards in punt returns and 166 yards in kick returns. He has 33 solo tackles, 40 assists and two tackles for loss. He made two interceptions and one touchdown from a punt return.

Personal: Clay is from Somerset, New Jersey and attended Franklin High School. He committed to Marist then transferred to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Fields' outstanding record brought him to sign with the Indianapolis Colts after a mini camp try-out. This accomplishments was one of many after he made First Team All Pioneer Football League (PFL), Second team All-PFL and PFL Co-Defensive Player of the week.
