Sharks Eat Up Freight

Box Score JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Sharks beat Fishers Freight in the Shark Tank with a dominating 59-27 win, it was a great effort by the Sharks who had the Freight trailing the entirety of the game.

The game opened with the Freight receiving the ball, but their drive was quickly derailed as Sharks defensive back Malik Jones snagged an interception. Sharks quarterback Kaleb Barker acted immediately, finding new Sharks running back Larry McCammon for a touchdown. After a successful extra point, the Sharks led 7-0. On the Freight's next possession, a failed fourth down run gave the Sharks the ball back. Barker connected with WR Ka'ron Ashley for a 15 yard touchdown, making it 14-0 after another successful extra point.

Early in the second quarter, the Sharks fumbled, but Jaedon Stoshak recovered the loose ball to keep the drive alive. Barker then threw a strike to Stoshak from midfield for a touchdown, the extra point was good. The Freight finally got on the board responding with a touchdown on their next drive.

Barker, under center for Jacksonville, orchestrated a touchdown drive capped by a scoring pass. The Sharks had the lead going into halftime up 28-7.

The Sharks opened the third quarter with a touchdown run by Barker and followed it up by scoring a "deuce" on the ensuing kickoff, quickly stretching the lead to 37-7. The defense added to the momentum with an interception, and the offense kept rolling. Facing 4th and 1 at the goal line, Barker called his own number and was helped by a powerful push from the Sharks offense line resulting in a touchdown. With the extra point, the Sharks led 44-7.

The Freight managed a short yardage touchdown but failed on the two point attempt after a key deflection by the Sharks defense. Backup quarterback Blaine Espinosa entered the game and wasted no time making an impact, hitting Jaedon Stoshak on a beautiful deep touchdown pass. Though the extra point was blocked, the Sharks extended their lead to 50-13. The Freight responded with a touchdown and then had a successful onside kick and on 4th down of the drive completed an over the wall touchdown catch, narrowing the deficit to 50-27.
